Guys, need some advice here again please...
I've set my room up with multeq32 (2 small subs) and kept my speaker sizes to small. The problem I saw was that all music, set to "Direct" sounded MUCH better than 2.1!? (More mids, bass and just "fuller").
I've played around with some settings but with MULTEQ on, I can't set any equalisers. I'd like to think I've got a keen ear for music as I played percussion in an orchestra for 12 years, yet I can't put my finger on it.
The best sound I'm getting out of the speakers thus far, is with setting MultEQ to L/R Bypass - but something tells me that the amp is now not filtering the crossover and pushing the full range to the front speakers (+subs), in which case Direct would be better.
The speakers are rated 35Hz+ (effective roll off from 40hz though, so speakers set to small with crossover set @40hz should be ideal).
How do I get the calibration tool to balance the system for better music audio, or do you guys just not use the automatic calibration and do everything manually?
Short summary:
-"Direct" bypasses all MutEQ settings and plays pure stereo (speakers are not full range)
-MultEQ32, 2.2 (stereo) does not work effectively as the sound lacks 'body'
-MultEQ with front L/R bypass sounds like 'Direct' but adds subs, which ends up exposing lack of power from the amp at higher volumes (as the speakers are effectively driven as full range speakers)
Any advice please?
