Well you seem invested in the outcome of this nonsensical debate, you understand the concept of arbitrage I'm assuming because it is a common occurrence worldwide.

Aren't you the guy that bought that Revox set for R9k from that guy in Plett?

If so it makes this thread of yours rather ironic, you are happy to buy at Sa prices but expect to sell at eBay prices.

New goods you either pay the pricing set by the manufacturer or you don't, 2hnd anything goes, its a seperate market.

Relative to the market size and demand despite there being more availability in bigger markets some things will always be in limited supply. And as mentioned in addition there is the localised demand that artificially inflates/skews ebay prices. If you list something esoteric for sale on eBay there may be 200 interested buyers from around the world, list the same thing in Sa and you may only have 1 or 2, do the maths on supply and demand.

And our 2hnd prices are below international standards only for some goods, normally its only the more esoteric or higher end stuff that can be significantly more expensive in some international markets.

Actually I'd much rather shop in the Eu/US for 2hnd audiophile gear, especially if there was cheap shipping and no duties because by and large they are cheaper than us and in many categories if you are prepared to do some work its easier to snag a bargain due to how massive the markets are.
