Dipole, Bipole or Direct Radiating

I'd like to get your opinions on Bipole (BP), Dipole (DP) and Direct Radiating (DR) surround speakers. I.t.o. DP I am thinking of closed box dipoles.

I listen to music in stereo predominantly so the better imaging of DR for music only is not really important for me. I am more interested in the HT application.
