Has anyone tied / used the Discogs App?
I downloaded it this past weekend - the main attraction being the ability to easily catalogue my collection by scanning the barcodes on each sleeve.
That was until I realised 2 things:
1. Scanning the barcode is pointless when it brings up a multitude of different pressings/releases. You still have to extract the vinyl from the sleeve to ascertain which pressing you have.
2. Barcodes? What barcodes? I've discovered that the vast majority of my collection do not have barcodes. A quick sample of 1 shelf - 60 LP's. 7 have barcodes. of those 7 Discogs recognises 3.
Seems it's made for a more modern generation?
