Modify or KIS(Keep it stock)

Are you a modifier or a stock person?

Maybe I posted this type of discussion here in the past (cant remember - I have terrible memory) but here we go.

Are you the kind of person who gets an utter kick out of it by modifying a piece of audio gear beyond recognition, such as; installing an IEC power plug on anything that runs on 230 VAC; fitting heavy-weight footers to lightweight cd players; etcetera. Or do you prefer to keep things the way they left the factory.

This also come into play when equipment needs repair. One of your opinions might be "while I'm at it lets upgrade the PSU components...".

This discussion is out of interest sake and inspired by a recent thread about an American made amplifier that can possibly benefit from a capacitor replacement.

There is some general idea that if you are able to solder and replace components, it is common practice to "upgrade" or rather "uprate" some parts.

So, what is YOUR opinion?

Personally I prefer to keep things stock.
