A couple of years ago i got a sony sa wp16 active sub for cheap.thanks to its port sitting so low to the ground,a mouse made its home inside and it stank of mouse urine and this prompted me to ditch the 10 inch sub and enclosure and use the amp on a 12 inch 200w kenwood car sub in a ported box.
The issue i have is that its very difficult to find specs for the active sub amp.ive seen specs that say 175wrms-200wrms (which i think might be very optimistic )and on the sub itself it says it consumes 80w of power.
Can a person use a multimeter to gauge how many watts is produced?is there other sure fire ways that the average diy-er can use?is the power consumption an indicator of the power the amp produces?
