Due to the high prices that used Squeezebox Touch boxes command, I decided to go the Pi route.
So far I have been experimenting with the piCorePlayer/Squeezelite/Jivelite combo, and with the exception of touchscreen calibration challenges, it has worked very well.
I am using the Waveshare 7" 1024x600 display, but am considering the official Pi display and the Smartipi case.
Here's the big question:
How stable are these Pi 'Squeezebox' players?
My experience so far has been that it works fine for a while, then one day it crashes. Create new image, etc, etc.
(My Linux skills are very basic).
Before I go and shell-out more on a new display and case, SPDIF output HAT, remote-control etc, would it not be better just to find a 2nd hand Touch?
