I went through the attic this afternoon and found my old NAD C 521i CD player and C 422 tuner.
The 521i does not read discs and I just discovered the drawer does not open after I got it back from a repair quote for the disc read problem! The tuner does not power on at all.
My electronics knowledge is virtually zero, but I can read a plan and would like to try my hand at some DIY.
My questions:
1. Is it worth trying to repair these myself?
2. Are there any repair manuals or diagrams available online?
3. How would I even know where the fault is?
4. If I turn out to be totally hopeless at DIY electronics, where in Cape Town can I go for a good and affordable repair guy?
