Needing a DVI cable to connect an old MacMini to a monitor, and not being prepared to pay the R500 odd the PC shop want to sell them for, I picked up a cheap DVI cable from a cellphone/China shop.
Well, it didn't work!
Could it be:
1. Apple is fussy and it must be an Apple cable.
2. The cable is faulty.
3. DVI cables do make a difference.
The cable that came with a new premium-grade Dell monitor works fine, but that is needed elsewhere.
I have yet to try the cheap cable on the other setup.
PS. anyone in Cape Town got a spare DVI cables lying around unused?
