I have just finished the exercise of cataloguing my vinyl LPs in an Excel spreadsheet. Next is to store them in alphabetical order. I found a substantial amount of duplicates, some sealed LPs and some I did not realise I had bought. This will at least stop me from re-ordering titles I already have. I can identify the condition of the disc and choose which I want to replace with a better copy. I have already marked which discs have been washed (these days I only play discs that I have washed and that have a new inner plastic sleeve). I intend also tagging which are my favourites and which are easy listening for visitors and friends.

I'll be making a last sale of LPs when i clear out the duplicate discs. My last sale, titles something like "Super Jazz Bundle" was also duplications. I don't know if I will do the same for my CDs, as I am not actively collecting them.

Do you catalogue? What utility do you use? Any tips?
