Hi all
I have a Sonos system covering most of my house. In my office, I have a Sonos Connect feeding a Cambridge Audio Azur 651W power amp driving a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RX6.
I have recently re-discovered some old FLAC files and am contemplating if it is worth upgrading part of my office system. I have thought about a decent USB DAC for my PC (e.g. iFi Zen Dac) to play my FLAC files or even go TIDAL.
However, as this would be connected to the Line In on my Sonos Connect, I understand it would undergo a Analog-Digital-Analog conversion in the Connect before getting to the Line Out. So would the USB DAC actually make sense in this setup - or would the ADA conversion by the Sonos make the USB DAC pointless?
And considering my amp and speakers, would it even make sense to go hi-rez audio? Or will the difference be negligible in this case?
Thanks in advance for your input
