Job description: Specific requirements - Electro-Mechanical Engineer
MTE Studios has developed over the past seven years a global traveling exhibition named Sultans of Science. One gallery of the exhibition is titled "Fine Technology which incorporates reconstructions of medieval mechanical devices invented by famous Muslim scholars during the Golden Age of the Islamic World.
The task for the electro-mechanical engineer is:
* to assess the electro-mechanical status of these exhibits
* to improve on the robustness, functionality and ease of maintenance thereof
* to implement the improvements to the existing exhibits
* to draw up the technical specification sheets and operational and maintenance manuals
* to train one or two technical staff of the exhibition installation crew, tasked to install and commission the exhibits in the various venues and
* to manufacture duplicates of these specific exhibits, if and when required or be engaged to create new exhibits
There are six engineering exhibits which require the aforementioned services:
* The 3,8m Elephant Water Clock (Al Jazari) - priority
* Tilting Flask (Banu Mussa)
* Robotic man (Al Jazari)
* Perpetual flute (Al Jazari)
* Wudhu device (Banu Mussa)
* Musical boat (Al Jazari)
