I am about to purchase a the DT880 headset on ebay.
It's just a question of which impedance I want as there are three variations (32 Ohm, 250 Ohm and 600 Ohm respectively). My gut tells me the higher, the better. I know it implies the inconvenience of needing an amp but I've resigned myself to it.
So, as far as availability goes, it seems that the 250 Ohm version is a lot more accessible (and incidentally cheaper) than the 600 Ohm version. Also, there's one in black - my preferred colour.
So my real question is, given that I'm using a headphone amp, will 250 Ohms be any real compromise over choosing the 600 Ohm version? It's very imperative that I know because if there is a difference, I won't compromise. I'll get the 600 Ohm version and pay the extra money.
