Last night, I touched my AVR's case and felt a strong earth leak on it - the vibratory tingle on fingertips. This was the strongest tingle i have ever felt on any piece of equipment.
I started to systematically pull the various input plugs from their sockets, including the two pin power supply kettle plug to the amp. I found the CD player was the culprit.
All my equipment is double earthed, powered by 2 pin plugs. I reversed the CD power plug into the wall socket and the leak current reduced but was still there. Being late, I resolved to try to pin down the problem this morning. First thing was to touch the amp casing - no leak. Nothing changed overnight. So, problem solved but I have no idea why. I will be grateful for any ideas. Thanks.
