Unpacked this one last night - last of the covid let's build it projects....
Wanted to try simultaneous mode on the TDA1541a and went with JL sounds I2SoverUSB as it natively supports - designed the PCB and added as a daughter board, muting circuit was indeed required as per the documentation and added this later on. Current conversion with ECC35s - I like the ECC32s a lot so wanted to try the higher gain cuzzins. Iron is Tamura and DC heated courtesy of Tentlabs. Plugs directly into my Roon Nucleus via USB - doesn't have the resolution and detail of a MSB Select but pretty ok given that half is from 57 and the other half from 87.
Single biggest impact on distortion was the regulators - this one is double regulated on all rails - final regulation Sparkos +-5 / +-15, Panasonic EEUs used as output caps as per documentation.
