So I'm on Holiday in a Eco Reserve on the outskirts of Calitzdorp, here's a pic of how isolated it is:

On our side there are only two houses totally off the grip, rain water and solar power :) so the neighbour comes over to introduce himself today and invites us over for a drink, well that made my day..as I walk in I'm greeted by Martin Logan Summits, Cosonance Calif amp and CD player and a TT, well he read my facial expressions and asked if I like Hi-Fi, I think I made his day, he's used to people visiting and not asking or saying anything about his Hi-Fi, well his wife and my wife gave up on us after 20min, we sat for long going through albums and then finally he put on the TT  :wallbreak: curse you vinyl lovers damn it, now I want one again, I was supposed to be away from hifi and in nature but then this Eco Audiophile has to stay next door :)

I must say though that the CD player didn't sound great at all, but when he put on the vinyl I had to ask him why he even owns it, there's no way I could ever play a cd on that player after listening to vinyl on that system, all of a sudden the CDs just sounded distorted and grainy.. Anyway I was very surprised to see such a setup for an off the grid house, he doesn't believe in cables and the usuall snake oil stuff but he felt that using the power from the batteries made a huge difference, I must say it was very dynamic sounding, way more than I expected. Made my weekend
