I am looking for an opinion please regarding an electrical quote I have been given.
I am doing an extensive renovation to a house which involves pretty much rewiring the whole thing, replacing DB board etc
A limited number of wires eg to the pool and to the gate can remain and the geyser is already wired up.
If I give you guys the basic info that there are 164 light points including switches (111 of these are 5w downlights), 2 extractor fans, 43 plug points, 2 undercounter lighting. They are quoting for replacement of all the wiring, a new big DB board, 100m of armoured cable to redo certain unsafe underground wiring. Price includes supply of all switches and plug points (Veti) but doesnt include lighting.
Don't want to go into too much detail and bore you. It's about a 400m^2 house.
Does R180k sound reasonable?
The guy is very reliable so to compare like with like it doesnt mean anything to me that i can get it for R120k for some dodgy north African gentleman who operates out of a bakkie (for example). Please compare like with like when commenting - reliability and comeback is paramount!
