We ran the M51 Nad as a DAC/Pre amp and then every combination you can imagine.
What an afternoon/ evening!!!!!

There was no major surprises to be honest, but certainly showed us there is space for all of these sets of equipment in our lives and they all do what they do extremely well.

Worth a mention is the home made sub running off the Nad mono bridged. Was a really really good sound, tons of control and oemph! Specifically when we took the baffle of and it effectively became a sealed 15? really nice!.

JBL?s sounded as good as we have heard them coming from that NAD Dac.

And then the ML well they just changed the room when we put them on and as always the little Rel just punching way above its size.

We ran the sub on all the amps we had independently and amazingly they all sounded significantly different.

Our take aways here is that digital amps are lighter and ultimately the one we had at 2400w rms the strongest but even the old hybrid amp had a better sound and warmer sound, the rotel bridged makes 360w rms and made the entire set up sound a bit ?brighter? but the Nad bridged at 500w rms stole the show here.

Lots of beers lots of old and new music, cables, tuning laughing, bass vocals mids and tops.

Great way to spend an afternoon
