I sold my place a few months back and I signed a contract saying occupational rent would be from 01 May and around R12,500.00

02 May arrives and I contact the attorneys to find out how to go about getting it, only to be told they will phone me shortly as they need to chat to the director. Strange, I thought, for a mundane issue - but waited for his call. When he phoned he explained there was an issue with the occupational rent, being that the Purchasers contract didn't have that clause and mine did. I thought these were supposed to be the same contract ie one paper we both sign. They couldn't explain the issue any why received two contracts from the agent ...

He said he'll pay me R10,500.00 and take it from the agents commission, as it was their mistake - which he did. My issue is :

How on earth could there be two contacts?
The agent has not contacted me once about this. After I chatted to the attorney, I phoned the agent who said 'oops! we'll take the money from our comm' and said she'd confirm in writing. She's ignored my mails since.
I'm still R2,100.00 out from the occupational rent I was promised. And worse, my tenant wanted to stay the extra month but because of this clause and the promise on income, she left.

Question is - does EAAB have any weight here? Are they an effective body? Anyone used them?
