In the absence of MKIII, this is what is going to happen here, one change at a time, sitting and listening after each change, as now, and hopefully - elevating this tiny bit to a Black Widow (not that it is not gorgeous now!) or whatever that stays in your memory. In no particular order and with no timeline attached - can happen tomorrow, can happen in 3 years :

1. Get (one input) the CD input directly on PCB (on the ECC88) using some Cardas flat copper or silver
2. Replace ALL signal path caps, which are < 5 mF with high Q non-electrolytics.
3. Bypass all power storage caps with ceramics / film
4. Remove COMPLETELY the glass AC fuse (as i did in the Jadis)
5. Replace all output, to speaker terminals wire with solid core - pure copper or silver
6. All wire feeding the tranny - upgraded
7. Vibration ring on the ECC88
8. Power caps - all changed to 4-pole Jensens
9. Input AC socket - to the cryo one i purchased for my project
10. A custom build or a fantastic power cord.

Now, start with flame and attacking me right away .. Why am i doing this ??

1. Because it's fun, and it WILL bring about improvement in the very few areas where i find a slight "issue"
2. Because when i head back to Europe, this is one thing which comes with me - this little giant is to stay in my life !
3. Because i'll kill giants with this MKIII, and it will be fun testing, even if the Exclame loses
4. Because i am a perfectionist deep in me

I want to put this thing against Francois' Manleys and i want to have a blind test, once above completed .. On his Wilsons, not on the Tannoys.
