The other day I got a very nice old Pioneer turntable. Everything works mechanically and the sound as bought is pretty good -, lively and clear. However there is an issue, the sibilance is very pronounced on vocals and cymbals sound 'splashy'.
So a bit of googling suggests VTA might be off, but then I read an article on TNTAudio that says VTA is basically a non-issue in that it can't really be adjusted as required. Any ideas?
