Morning all. At the back of my NAD T743 A/V R, there are 6 input jacks for 5.1 external input, namely L R, Centre and Surrounds. According to the owner's manual, this is for a DVD/A or SACD player but a normal DVD player can also be connected for improved sound quality, by using the amps DTS or Dolby decoding because it has no bass management. So I connected the digital interconnects from the dvd analogue out jacks to the amps L and R jacks, and selected 5.1 external on the amp but there was no sound. Did I do something wrong there? Does this really improve the sound quality from a conventional dvd p? Please advise.
