I know there are quite a few F1 followers on the forum. So what do you guys think of the season opener?
What a horrendous crash that Alonso had. Wow, anxious moments for all involved and super amazing that he climbed out of that wreck and walked away from it seemingly unhurt.
In general, Ferrari seems to be more competitive but Mercedes still secured a first-second win. Vettel was in with a chance to take second from Hamilton (and to overtake him for the second time in the race), so Ferrari (and their fans) should be encouraged. Not much coming from the other teams, although Ricardo looked pretty good in the Red Bull. The new tyre rule makes the race more interesting, the cars look and sound better, but oh dear, the new qualifying rules were a disaster.
