Faulty Technics SP10?

Hi all

I have the opportunity to purchase a very clean Technics SP10 (think it's a mkii) but according to the owner one of the circuit boards is faulty..  :sd: Would it be a bad idea to purchase it in this state and what would be a realistic amount to pay for something like this? Would it even be repairable, apparently most of the IC's Technics used are almost unobtainable from what I've read.
