To wrap up 2011. What would you say was your favourite album released this year?
For me, In Flames - Sounds of a playground fading
It is harder than what most people would like, although it reintroduces the melodic element back into heavy metal.
That is something I have missed amongst what pass as metal these days.
Also, together with the melodic side, it is also very progressive, so eases into the heavy stuff, and usually starts with awesome riffs and hooks.
The songs them selves are very catchy, and you will have them stuck in your head if you have listened to the album for a couple of weeks.
