This is a picture that I posted before, our first batch of cherries. Our initial estimates were 3 to 6 tons, but we ended up harvesting almost 17 tons. So the cherries harvest was a big success.

Then we started with the peaches. Here is the first assignment heading for Joburg.

The early varieties were ok, however size was a problem and the price per kilo back on the farm was poor. As the drought continued, the later varieties were even smaller. As you can see, they are about the size of a peach. Nothing wrong with the taste, in fact it is so concentrated that it tasts really nice but we cannot sell these.

It is still early days and we are probably about 20% into the harvest so we will see what happens with the later varieties. We have had some rain on the farm, time will tell.

I posted somewhere that I was busy building a pizza oven on the farm.

Isolation consisted of many layers of tinfoil followed by 4 layers of fibre-glass (fibre only) and lots of tinfoil on top of that.

Isolation in......

Scaffolding stripped out.

Details inside the chimney.

Fired the first time. It works like a charm.
