Hello All,

So, this weekend I upgraded my sub and amp. Went from a MA BR10 ? Jamo 650 and from the Integra 30.3 ? Onkyo NR 808.

Sub:
Obviously from just the size, the sound and feeling was very noticeable. Much more bass extension and power when playing familiar movie scenes. Lovely sub that my neighbour will love to hate. Happy with the result.

Amp:
Much smaller difference than I thought I would hear. Being from the same blood line, I calibrated everything back to what I had set on my previous amp. Movies did sound a bit more ?fuller? but not sure if this is not more in my mind. But given the sheer size of the amp (Integra 9kg vs Onkyo 22kg), where should have been a significant jump in a ?volume? based assessment?!?!
Gripes:
- The sound on the tuner is much lover and very flat compared to my Integra
- The picture quality on digital (Mede8er) is not as crisp
- Was searching specs online post buying it (it was a very unnatural impulse purchase for me!), I saw a thread on AVSForums that this was a troublesome amp?
o Anyone have good/ bad experiences with this amp?

Questions on the Amp:
- Would the amp, connectors and speakers need some decent playing time to increase the power (i.e. loudness) of the output?
- For the tuner, why would the sound be much lower and flat vs. the previous amp given all the extra power? (Remember I calibrated it to the exact same spec as my Integra)
- Would the Mede8er quality decrease because it?s an older amp with older software? (Movies on DVD were great, if not slightly better)
- If the statement above is true, how easy is it to download and upgrade the firmware?
