fine tune'ing and system settings

Ok so any tips to get the best out of a system...

I can't decide if my polk A7 sound beter on large or small??? Running them of a yamaha 2067 and when I use the mic it gives them as large! And turns the extra bass on...any tips for ht? For music I put then on 2ch sterio and large!
