When I collected my TT from a fellow forum member, he gave me some vinyls to help me get started, which were greatly appreciated.
Last week I decided to actually buy a brand new vinyl. After spending hours on My Vinyl's website I finally decided on getting Alanis Morissette ? Jagged Little Pill. Its a 180g pressing, cut from the original master - that's what the sticker says.
It arrived last night, so I immeditated put it on.............WOW.....................Then to compare I got the CD out and put it on.
My CD setup is a Marantz CD player, playing thru a Theta Pro DAC. So not the last word in high end, but its always served me well.
Playing the two sources one after the other does really bring home the massive difference in the type of sound.
With the CD is almost sounds like all the elements to the song are being played from different sources, where as the vinyl it all sounds like one source.
This of course has ruined me for listening to CD's going forward :groovy:
