Bought a Royobi 2.5kW generator +/- 6 years ago for R 999-00 at game, never used it until now. Unfortunately does not have AVR. Any ideas in providing AVR without having to physically cut into the generator windings for control? Want to use the unit to run a TV and some audio equipment. How critical is AVR for this use? I can understand if the generator over speeds for some reason and the voltage goes high and could damage equipment, but can't see how this could really happen. Obviously going the inverter route would be the best. Any other thoughts/ideas?
