I am a smoker, and this thread is specifically for follow smokers.
Have you also thought about the idea of having something like your car's cigarette lighter at home?
I have... especially on those nights when the zippo fluid refills are empty, no matches available, and I start to wonder why I have an induction stove... I then make the choice of disabling the alarm system, unlocking doors and gates, walk to my garage in my boxers.. be it calm or cold. And light my Cig in the car. -- Why? Cause I really need a smoke, I have serious issues about putting my head in the oven Oo
So I'm planning on building a car's cigarette lighter at home... Similar to the set-up at Beijing International Airport's smoking rooms, but built into my desk.
Most cars use a 15AMP fuse for the lighter... and the voltage is 12V DC. That equates to 180W.
I had thought of getting an old PC PSU, with a +15Amp 12V rail, but found a cheaper alternative on eBay: A Regulated Switching Power Supply For LED Strip Lights
Seems small enuff to mount under my desk too.
As for the actual lighter, I was thinking along the lines of 12V Motorcycle Car Cigarette Lighter Charger Socket
Then drill a hole into my desk, mount the lighter's socket and wire it to the Power Supply.
Seems feasible, right?
