Morning Gents
What do you regard as a reasonable time to reply to a PM to conclude a transaction on this forum?
A fellow member enquire about digital cables that I sell, and requested models and prices.(via PM)
I supplied the info on Monday as promised. (Via PM)
He then send me PM yesterday at 16:50. If I was prepared to do the specific model at certain price including shipping to Dbn, he will buy, and I must send contact details awa banking details.
While at a customer in Durbanville, installing a power amp, I replied within an hour to his PM(via PM), saying that I would do so in the morning, as I was tied up for the day/evening.
This morning, I send through the info via sms to his phone, only to get the following sms message back:
"Sorry Ben, I never have your contact details so I bought a cable from ABC yesterday evening.."
This message, to me, imply that I did something wrong, and hence the reason I lost "the deal"
Now for those of you, who know me well, will know that I call a spade a spade.
My reply to the member via sms was:
"You send me pm at 5 last night indicating you will take item if I agree on price. I responded to pm although being busy at client. Plse dont waist my time again. I really have no time for TW's And do not accept your excuse...you should allow someone reasonable time to respond to your requests"
He then wanted to know if I felt he was a TW, and I responded Yes....
Guess we both spoke our minds, but luckily nothing malicious, and we move on with life.
I can understand that some/most people might get offended, if being taken on and labelled as something you will never see yourself as.(in this case TW)
I just can not justify his action, and the excuse used, trying to project the blame on me.
Okay...so the Jury is open...
