Fourplay - Between the Sheets

Just been listening to this album again for the millionth time and realised that this old AAD recording from 1993 is the best quality, most musically recorded album in my entire collection (in my humble opinion) It never ceases to thrill me....

It was released under the Warner Bros label, and pressed in Germany. Obviously produced by musos who love their music, the dynamic range, attack of the instruments, and the general SQ is awesome!

At that time the group consisted of Bob James (Keyboards), Lee Ritenour (Guitar), Nathan East (Bass), and Harvey Mason (Drums).

This was their second album, I believe, with their debut album "Fourplay" being released some two years earlier in 1991. This I have on the Tusk label, also AAD recording and equally as good. The only other jazz recordings that seem to come close the those on the GRP label.

Saw them perform here in SA a couple of years ago at the CTICC Auditorium in Cape Town and they blew me away!

I wish more of my music was recorded to this standard - to my ears nothing comes close!

I'd like to hear of others opinions that have this CD.
