I would like to fix the problem myself seeing it is weekend and all. Otherwise I will have to wait till Monday to get a professional.
I've got a Kelvinator Classic. It is about 5 years old bought new.
This morning when I opened the door I noticed the light is dead. I thought it is just the light. Later during the day I could see the cooling system is also dead. I then took out the plug and looked for a problem, could not get it. I plugged the fridge back in and it worked again, light and all. But 30 minutes later, the same problem. Only this time I could see some slight burn marks on one of the plugs ''poles'' if this is the correct term. It seems to draw a lot of power, more than my geyser ;D. If I look at my pay as you go meter.

Where can I start troubleshooting? I have already plugged it in directly to the wall socket, hoping it might be the double plug extension, but something tells me I will not be so lucky.
