I had a rather enjoyable discussion with a chap a few days ago, until he reverted to ad-hominems when he ran out of logic.
Delving a little deeper into who he is led to me discover he is a fairly well known speaker & self proclaimed "futurist".
Which caused me to have much laughter & I must confess, derision.
Can anyone define "futirist"?
If so, is it any different from any of the below? And if yes, how?

Clairvoyant
Fortune-teller
Oracle
Prophet
Mountebank
Mystic
Spell-Caster
and on and on.
My take, after watching some videos & doing some research, is that it is BS baffles brains dressed in a smart suit. Put the same person in a carnival caravan dressed in a flowing robe, saying the same thing, & they'd be laughed off as a fringe crackpot.
