Hi Vintage Amp fans
I work on a unique amplifier a few days back. Have you seen anything like it?
It has a negative power supply and uses PNP Germanium transistor output stages. Look at all those capacitors:
I found some AD149's on ebay, and promptly imported 8 of them.
It turned out I did not need them. Germanium transistors just test funny, even when they are still functional. I now have 8 AD149's in stock.
I replaced all capacitors
This amplifier had capacitors inside that had a marker line on the positive side of the cap. I've never come across caps marked this way.
After all was done, she sang beautifully. Another museum piece saved for posterity
