I've read of two people being killed by a generator when experiencing a total anomaly (NASA jargon for rocket exploded and destroyed) The latest was a guy in Klerkdorp. I don't understand how a petrol generator can just explode while running normally. I can understand if you're fiddling around with the generator or filling the fuel tank while its running. According to reports, the man heard the generator start making a funny noise and as he went to investigate the generator exploded and he was burnt and killed. Any experts could explain what could cause this. I can expect a piston or bearing failure would wreck the generator but not an explosion, any ideas??
