Well, I received my order of this book, a few days ago; being wanting to buy a copy for sometime after all the praise it has been given here.

While some of what I have read so far has been enlightening and interesting; a couple articles had me in dismay: He is in the cables make a difference camp; a subtle difference he says; oh NO! And he says that you mustn't move the cables about as that interferes with the performance  As an electrician I cannot see how this is possible. A cable carries current, so if you use the best conductor, silver, to have the lowest resistance possible, what more can you do? Yes, there is inductance and capacitance issues;but you can only do so much with them. And interference too- single screening takes care of that. I need an electrical engineer in the cables make a difference camp to give me a technical explanation as to how this is possible, until such time, I will stick to my understanding ie. cables make no difference to the sound at all. Only the absence of them does :point:

Secondly he states that you must get the polarity on your components plugs correct: AC has no polarity to begin with, only DC does. The only concern with connecting the live and neutral in the correct place is a safety concern, not one of performance. Live must always go to the switch first, so that when you switch off the component, it no longer has any electricity in it. If you switch live and neutral, although when you switch the component off, it will switch off, however, electricity will be present in the component, which could cause a shocking experience if you open up the component and start fiddling around inside.

Apart from this, it is a good book. I shall heed his advice; after all he has years of experience and has much knowledge
