Hi Guys

Been a lurker for a while now and just soaking all the info on the various threads but I'm by no means an audiophile... yet!

My trusty Sony str-de515 receiver gave up on me after nearly 14+ years of good service and I'm looking for a replacement however I'd like to go the stereo route after being blown away at how awesome a friend of mine's Yamaha A-S500 and Monitor Audio bookshelves sound!

I've sold off the center and surrounds I used in conjunction with some old Blaupunkt floorstanding speakers (my old man bought it +-32years ago brand new!)

With budget constraints I had to settle for the best bang for buck fronts and went with the Sony SS-F6000https://www.google.co.za/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=sony%20ss-f6000 which is about two  months old now.

So firstly for now I need a new amplifier. I've googled the Yamaha and saw that there's a newer model A-S501 but not sure if its available yet but would love to have it!

The source of all my madness is my gaming / home theater pc

The essentials of the pc is an FX8350 cpu, 8gb ram and AMD R9 280X gpu which feeds into the 40" Bravia lcd via HDMI and via rca to the now defunct Sony receiver.

I would really like the option of using the TV's optical out to the Yamaha.

I recently also acquired JRiver media center 19 to do all the media playback.

So my question to you guys are: Where do I find this amplifier (budget is R5.5k, R6k is pushing it where the  :angrywife: is concerned)

I also don't mind if you guys can list alternatives and where I can find them PREFERABLY new. I'm in Cape Town
