Not sure if this topic was posted in the past, but in any case something to think about. A friend send me the following link:

I am aware that some "high-end" products use parts from so called "mass-market" manufacturers but where must the line be drawn?
My trusty old Pioneer PD-75`s stable platter transport (built like a tank by the way) has been used by either Wadia or Theta (cannot remember now which of the 2 brands) in some of their models. The question then is if the extremely high prices of some high-end equipment can be justified? ???
