Maj-Gen Jephta is the Deputy Commissioner SAPS Western Cape.
She was interviewed by a reporter from the Cape Argus (Final Edition) today under the (very) bold headline "Cops will sell off your precious belongings" apparently addressing the provincial parliament standing committee on community safety.
While 'addressing' the committee, she was appealing to people to keep receipts and serial numbers of electronic goods they buy to ensure they can ID and reclaim goods stolen from them.
Among these wisdoms she addressed to the committee, she urged people to make lists of serial numbers and to keep receipts for the goods they buy and even advice as to where to keep the list.
She allegedly said "Make a list and put it on your fridge".
It really now sounds as if the cops and thieves are in cahoots.
Duh.
