Need some advice
The gearbox in my 2011 E250 seems to have given up the ghost today. Wouldn't engage any gear over third. Then went into limp mode and only goes to second. Took it to someone for an assessment and a quote.
Been advised that's its the mechanotronic plate. But the gearbox needs to be stripped and 'worse case' will cost about 63k. Sounds excessive to me but don't really know.
Anybody advise on a similar issue or suggest someone good around joburg?
