Figured I'd start a thread covering places forum members have visited for a getaway and really liked.
Spent the last seven days in Zimbali and found it to be one of the nicest family holidays I've had in SA. Totally relaxing because the weather was great day and night, the estate is lush and green and you feel like you're living in nature rather than a typical complex, it's quiet, there's no hustle bustle, there are no crowds to compete with, everything is within easy reach of a golf cart ride (multiple swimming pools, beach access, tennis courts, squash courts, golf course, driving range, spa for the mrs, coffee shop etc.), Ballito is 5 mins by car, and last but not least, you're relatively safe inside the estate. It's been a long time since I've sat outside on a patio to 10/11pm drinking wine with the mrs. and not worrying whether or not it's not the best idea where safety is concerned. It's the first time I've truly felt relaxed whilst on holiday. If you need a change of pace I highly recommend it.
My son on the course for an early morning 9-holes:
What places would you recommend for others to stay and why?
