Yesterday Jhb municipality introduced stage 2 water restrictions.

Having grown up during severe water shortages in the Northern Cape, I'm personally very aware of water use, the rest of my household not so much.

I'm sitting on 27kL water use per month, a lot of which I think is probably from the washing machine (about 100+L / cycle - probably 10 cycles / week).

At the moment we are not allowed to water the garden in daytime hours (0600-1800) and if I look at the weather, it will probably get worse.

Has anyone experience with grey water systems? I see there are sump systems and systems that uses a natural filter set-up.
I want to consider the viability of it. Not that it will save me money (Jhb charges sanitation based on erf size  :nutter:), but it's the right thing to do and could save my lawn.....
