Hard Drive Problem

The 250G HD on my microserver seems to be giving problems. I can still boot up and run programs, but at startup I get

400-AHCI port 0 device error

then it starts up as usual, but later, a window will flash up and tell me that windows has determined that my hard drive is failing (or words to that effect) and that I should back up.

What to do? Can the HD be saved?
