I thought I would share an experience of great service from a fine local manufacturer! I hosted a dinner at my home one evening as a kind of 20 year reunion with my school buddies. Unlike myself, many have since procreated and along came one of the couples with their 2 youngsters. The rules were clear (and expressed twice) - they can run amok, but keep them away from the sound equipment! My girlfriend suggested I put the covers on my K1's but clever dick over here was too lazy to grab the ladder and retrieve them from the top of a cupboard. Either way i thought after pre-warning the offender's parents all would be swell...

To cut a long story short, during the course of the evening the parental guidance kind of tapered off in direct proportion to the number of bottles of wine being consumed. The two year old locked his eyes on one of those big, silver, bulbous dust caps and with the pace of Usain Bolt darted across a large open plan room and did the deed  My firearm was locked up so I could not kill the kid. All I could do is pour another glass and light a cigarette to ease the pain...

Ah yes, Vivid Audio. It only took one phonecall, and the following day the owner himself came over to assess the damage. Within 2 days the damaged dust caps were replaced and my beloved K1's were restored to their former glory.

I'm quite sure that if it were a speaker from another manufacturer I certainly would have had to purchase complete drive units albeit that only the dust caps were dented. Buying local certainly makes sense!

Hat off to Philip and his team at Vivid Audio - world class products coupled with world class service
