I'm wondering if anybody has settled for a dedicated stereo setup and subsequently just done a sub-satellite set for home theatre. I'm toying with the idea. I've listened to Yamaha 5.1 sub-satellite sets and been pretty impressed with them for movies. The subs seem to integrate well with the satellites. I almost never do music videos so sound in surround is not critical. I've always been of the (personal) opinion that only the centre speaker is critical in movies. The fronts and surrounds are mere effect speakers.
Reason I'm thinking this way is that I can then have smaller speakers around the room and save some money in the process. I listen to music 60-70% and movies 30-40% on my system
