I have received my new Denon AV Receiver today. After disconnecting the old receiver and connecting the Denon up I had this loud humming sound coming from the sub. I've spent 5 hours swapping cables and playing around trying to find the problem. Through this all I've decided to disconnect the new amp again and see what happens when going back to the old one. The moment that I have unplugged the DSTV HDMI cable the humming sound disappeared. I've moved my focus to the HD-PVR and found that the problem occurs as soon as I connect the ExtraView "heartbeat" cable that runs to the 2nd decoder in the house. I have tried earthing the cable, but although the humm gets softer, it is still noticeably there.
