I was getting a light buzz from my Little Dot mk II when I plugged in my IEM's.. figured it may be EMI or harmonic distortion, so moved the equip to a different, more shielded location, as well as popped in a Furman AC210-A-E power conditioner dedicated to my DAC & head.Amp [as my PC and some other items previously ran on the same circuit from my pure sinewave UPS]
Noise went lower... but last night it acted up again.
So I replaced the quad match set of NOS RCA 6AS7G power tubes I got from eBay with the stock Thomson 6080's that came with the Little Dot.. and the noise disappeared
Clearly the power tubes were not NOS :Ooooooh:
Was thinking of either getting 4x Bendix 6080 tubes [USD.785 exCustoms].. but there's no guaranty that I would like their sound.
Or getting a secondhand Auralic Taurus mk II or new Schiit Ragnarock, and pop in a valve pre-amp?
The headphones that I have/will use are:
- Senn HD650
- Senn HD800S
- HiFiMan HE-560
- Audeze LCD-4
All running balanced cables.
What do you guys think?
