I bought a used set of Sennheiser HD595 of the avforums and the owner mentioned that they might need some amplification to get the max out of them.
I have heard of headphone amplification but is not something I know much about.
I would like to get headphone amplification on the cheap and this is where my questions comes in.
I have a oldish sony 5.1 amplifier with a headphone jack. Can I use this speaker amp to amplify my headphones using PC(spdif) \ cd player(RCA) as source ?
My concern comes from the fact that most amps can do 4Ohm to 16Ohm speakers but the HD595?s are 50Ohm ?
Is this a possible way to amplify headphones ? It also provides me with a few EQ options on the amp to adjust sound output.
If this is not a recommended option what are my options on the cheap ?
Is there a decent amplification option at say a R500 \ R1000 and say R2000 price level ?
Any thoughts \ advice \ options would be much appreciated to get the max out of the headies.
